Reflecting on top 5 things I wish I'd Known by API

When I arrived in Paris, a few days later, we had an orientation and we got many papers and packets that, to be honest, I didn't bother to read most of them. Now that it's towards the end of the semester and I am trying to clean and get rid of most of my papers, I came across a small piece of paper that says "Top 5 Things I Wish I'd Known By: Former API students" I sat down and read it and I couldn't agree more on what the API students said. In the beginning, I thought about these things a lot and now I am thinking about them even more and reflecting on all these things. 1. Adjusting to a different schedule  2. The European Classroom 3. Integrate from day 1 4. Don't be afraid of public transportation! 5. Patience, Patience, and Patience! In the beginning, adjusting to a different schedule was a lot of work because here at Diderot, my classes are only once a week and some of the classes don't have a discussion class. This gives me...

Showing you guys around Universite Paris Diderot

Image
Salut! This is a short video of how my university looks like and what is around my university. This part of Paris is very different and looks more like Boston than other parts of Paris. There is the national library next to it, Bibliotheque Nationale de France, and a lot of stores such as H&M. Enjoy!

Room tour: Home-stay family

For anyone thinking of going to the Catacombs... GO

Image
My friend Mitchell, who was my RA freshmen year, came to Paris for the first time during spring break and I met him at the Catacombs. I'm not the type of person that likes to go to touristy areas, especially in Paris, but I decided to try this out and I'm glad I did. The line was extremely long and we waited around one hour and 30 minutes but it was worth it and it wasn't expensive either! When you get inside, there are A LOT of stairs that take you very deep inside the catacombs and then the tour is around 40 minutes if you don't stop too long to see everything. If you are studying abroad somewhere where there are Catacombs. I would definitely advise you to go.
